Gearing up for your big day can be nerve-wracking, so it’s a relief to have a little guidance when it comes to planning your wedding. Use these handy tips to help you make the right decisions when it comes to picking your wedding transportation.

  1. Book Early

One of the most crucial transportation decisions is to make sure you book your wedding transportation early; preferably 6 months out. April –June is a very popular time for private transportation because of summer, graduation, and prom, so you may need to book even earlier if your wedding falls in those months. There’s nothing worse than trying to book last-minute only to come up empty-handed, so make sure you are well prepared.

  1. Decide What Vehicle You Want

Make sure the vehicle you use for transportation is one that YOU want, not necessarily one that is traditional for weddings. While limousines are an excellent and classic choice [they have a sense of style, class, and that royalty vibe everyone wants on their wedding day] some people choose to go with charter buses because of how spacious and fun they are. It’s YOUR day, so you get to decide!

  1. Get a Vehicle for Your Guests

Try to spring for an extra vehicle or two for your attendants. Sometimes guests have a hard time finding transportation, or maybe they flew in.  Your out of town guests will be relieved and really appreciative of the provided transportation, and it guarantees your guests getting there on time and in style.

  1. Give Yourself Extra Time

Make sure you always pad extra time on your trip. You never know what will happen on your wedding day that will cause you to have delays. Adding an extra 30 minutes on both legs of the trip is always a smart idea.

  1. Know what You Want

Certain vehicles have certain accommodations, and you need to know ahead of time what you want out of your transportation. Do you need WiFi? Outlets? Accessibility? Are you bringing a service animal? Make a list of your needs when searching for transportation so you know exactly what you should be looking for.

  1. Communication is Key

After you have decided what you want out of your transportation, communicate that to the company you’re working with so they can get everything ready for you. At A-1 we are always willing to accommodate requests, especially on your special day- we want to help elevate your joy to the next level. Being specific and letting the company know your needs will ensure a seamless experience.

  1. Make a playlist

Put together a playlist of some great tunes for your wedding day to play in the car. Music is a great way to set the mood for your big event. Maybe you need to amp yourself up or relax if you’re feeling jittery. Bringing a playlist to play in your vehicle for the wedding, the reception, and on the way home is a great way to create the vibe you want and entertain your guests.

  1. Don’t fill to capacity

If the vehicle you rent seats 8-10, don’t fill every last seat. Try keeping your headcount to 2-3 people under the maximum capacity for extra space and comfort. You will be grateful for the extra room!
