Booking a charter bus tour can be daunting. There are a lot of factors to consider and sometimes the options are overwhelming! As a charter bus tour company, our staff at Triangle Tours is familiar with what makes a great trip. Our company was founded in 2018 by Jeff Starr with the belief that he could create experiences that would turn tourists into lifelong travelers. Supplied by his sister company A-1 Limousine with our coaches, we have combined our love for transportation with a thirst for travel into an amazing tour bus company. We’ve compiled a smart guide below that will come in handy when you’re looking to reserve your first bus tour.
What is a charter bus?
A charter bus is a large coach bus that is used by a company to transport groups to a previously determined destination. Charter buses are excellent for group traveling because they are comfortable, private, and convenient.
Who rents charter buses?
Charter buses are great for group tours. If you have a group tour coming up are interested in planning a trip of your own, a charter bus is a great option because they are spacious and relaxing.
How many seats does a charter bus have?
At Triangle Tours, we use buses from A-1 Limousine. They are able to hold up to 56 people! The number of seats may vary depending on the tour you book, but seating is always roomy and plush.
Can passengers bring food & drinks? Alcohol?
While alcohol is not permitted on the bus due to safety reasons, you can absolutely bring food and beverages onboard. We ask that you bring any drinks or meals in non-breakable containers and make sure to tidy up after yourself so everyone can have an enjoyable experience on-board.
Are pets allowed?
We welcome service animals on all of our tours. Please read more about our Service Animals Policy.
What items are prohibited?
We ask that you do not bring any alcohol, sharp objects, flammable or explosive materials, weapons and tools, or chemicals onboard the coaches.
Is there storage space?
Many of the vehicles overhead storage for smaller bags and large storage space under our buses for larger items, plenty of room for any trip.
Restrooms?
The large motorcoaches offer onboard restrooms. We always make an effort to stop along the way [depending on the length of the tour] for restroom breaks
Seatbelts?
Currently, seatbelts are not mandatory on coach buses, therefore not all motor coaches are equipped with them. However, we are currently working on installing seatbelts on all of our coach buses.
Are they accessible?
Certain buses are accessible. Please call us ahead of time to let us know if you need an accessible vehicle so we can provide you with the support you deserve.
Who drives the motor coach?
Our motorcoaches are driven by our highly trained professional motorcoach chauffeurs.
Can we make last-minute stops?
Unfortunately, in an effort to make sure the entire tour stays on schedule, we cannot make any last-minute stops. However, if you give us a call ahead of time, we may be to accommodate your request.
How far in advance should I book my rental?
The earlier the better, but the tours must be paid for in full 2 weeks in advance to guarantee your reservation.
How much does it cost?
Fees vary depending on the tour, distance, and number of days. Please visit our tours page to see our fees!
How much should you tip the bus driver?
While gratuities are included in the cost, if your bus driver has provided exceptional service, 15-20% is an appropriate amount.
