Yesterday, May 13, 2020, A-1 Limousine joined hundreds of other motorcoach operators in Washington, D.C. for a rolling rally seeking financial support for our industry.
Over 400 operators registered at the event and over 800 motorcoaches paraded around the capitol in a historic event for our industry.
Organized by the American Bus Association [ABA] and the United Motorcoach Association [UMA], this positive event showcased how big buses and small businesses move America. Buses were decorated with informative signs about the motorcoach industry including: the groups they serve, the economic impact they make and the people they employ.
It was an incredible day not only for A-1 Limousine and our sister company, Triangle Tours, but the entire motorcoach industry. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of an industry that is primarily run by small businesses and families. Together we are one big family, together we are stronger and together we got the attention of the country.
Motorcoach operators are seeking to remind Members of Congress and the Trump Administration that the industry – which has laid off or furloughed more than 90 percent of its workforce nationally in the wake of COVID-19 – needs federal assistance. The motorcoach industry has requested $15 billion in federal grants and loan guarantees and modifications to Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program.
