As we head into the weekend and while you are practicing social distancing, here are 10 ideas for at-home activities to keep you busy and entertained:

Travel – Virtually

This by far is a favorite of ours. With the world practicing social distancing and many attractions shutting down, many museums are now offering virtual tours. A few of our favorites include; Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Italy, the Musee d’Orsay in Paris, the Guggenheim in NYC and 2,500 others on Google’s Arts & Culture pages.

Get Organized

Yesterday was the first day of spring, so this gives us a chance to start that spring cleaning! Employees around the office shared their to-do list and they included, organizing the fridge, cleaning out their closets and swapping out the winter clothes for warmer weather items.

Netflix with Friends

If now isn’t the time to binge on all of those tv shows and movies, when is? While we are not able to invite people over to watch with us, we can all press play at the same time and text during the show.

Read

It can be difficult to set aside time to read regularly, even for those of us who love a good book. There are always so many other pressing items to check off of our lists every day. Whether its an audiobook, or sitting on the sofa with a cup of coffee, take a moment to dive into a book you’ve been “meaning to get to.”

Family Game Time

Challenge the family to a game of monopoly or opt for a puzzle race (try to complete your puzzle before your opponents). Now is the time for some quality family bonding.

“Visit” with Grandparents

It is crucial that we follow the guidelines set forth by health professionals and keep our distance from our older relatives and friends. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t spend time with them. Pick up the phone or get on FaceTime and shower them with love, especially if they find themselves alone during this time.

Entertain the Kids

For those of you with little ones to think about, this is a fun opportunity to find new ways to connect. Put those Amazon boxes to good use and build a cardboard fort! Set up a treasure hunt. Have an indoor picnic. Take a few minutes every day to practice mindfulness, a great resource can be found here. No matter what you do, enjoy these precious extra moments you have with your kiddos.

Try New Recipes

Pinterest is filled with millions of recipes, why not try your hand at a few new meals? A few of our favorites are, tomato and cucumber salad, garlic butter steak and potato foil packets and french onion chicken lasagna roll-ups.

Self-Care

Indulge in a few face masks, give yourself a manicure, keep your body moving and try some at-home exercise.

Give Back

Many small businesses are struggling during this time. Support your local favorites by purchasing gift cards to give them revenue and you can use it at a later date! Another way to give back is to donate to local charities that are helping those less fortunate. Here are a few doing incredible work locally and worldwide: Ronald McDonald House, No Kid Hungry and the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

We are inspired to see communities across the world
coming together to fight this pandemic.
The A-1 Family is part of your community and
